Shawn received his BFA from Webster University, and in 2017, his MFA from Washington University. Shawn has shown at G-CADD, Openspace Kansas, and ANNEX:Art in Berlin. Shawn won the Cecile R. Hunt Award in and the Art. St. Louis Award for Excellence in 2015. His show Knife Fight in a Valley of Flowers is currently viewable at Cunst Gallery in St. Louis.
