On January 27, 2017 CitizenArtistSTL brought together mayoral candidates for the City of St. Louis in a town hall style event focused on topics that matter to the arts and culture community in St. Louis. Topics include leadership and policy development for the arts, art education, funding, creative entrepreneurship, gentrification, housing, and transportation. The event will be moderated by Sylvester Brown, journalist, writer, and founder of the Sweet Potato Project. Confirmed candidates are Jeffrey Boyd (D), Antonio French (D), Tishaura Jones (D), Lyda Krewson (D), and Lewis Reed (D), and Larry Rice (I). The event was supported by Critical Conversations, Critical Mass for the Visual Arts, All the Art, and The Luminary.
The municipal primaries are on Tuesday March 7, 2017, and the General Municipal Elections will take place on Tuesday April 4, 2017. You can find your polling place here.
